General Notes: Husband - Benjamin F. Amsler
He was reared to habits of industry on the home farm, and in the common schools of the neighborhood acquired his literary education. In adulthood he carried on operations as a farmer in Washington township, Clarion County, PA, and also owned and operated a portable sawmill of twenty-three horsepower, with a capacity of 20,000 feet of lumber per day. In both occupations he met with a well-deserved success.
Politically, he was identified with the Republican party, and socially, affiliated with Tecumseh Lodge No. 1033, I. O. O. F. He and his wife were both sincere members of the Lutheran Church of Fryburg, and were also faithful temperance workers.
General Notes: Wife - Lavina McKissick
She was reared and educated in Centreville, Pennsylvania.
