General Notes: Husband - Henry Snyder
He resided in Union County, Pennsylvania, until 1839 and in the fall of that year moved to Clarion County. In 1878 or 1879 they moved to Jefferson County, settling near Richardsville where Mrs. Snyder died. After the death of his wife Mr. Snyder continued to live at the homestead with his son John until the death of the latter, then resided with his son Abram until his own death. He was buried at Richardsville on Thanksgiving Day, all his living children being present. He was one of the oldest men in Jefferson County and continued in fairly good health until his death, at which date he had living fifty-seven grandchildren, seventy-six great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Four of his eleven children survived him, five sons and two daughters preceding him to the grave.
He was a farmer all his active years, and finally succumbed to old age, not to any disease. He was a devoted Christian and a church member for over half a century. He united, about 1842, with the Evangelical Lutheran church, but about twenty-five years later joined the church of the United Brethren, there being no church of his own faith near his home.
