General Notes: Husband - William C. McElroy

He received what little education a country boy could in the township schools, and after his schooling was over, he went to work on his father's farm, where he remained until he was twenty years of age. He then went to Ligonier, Pennsylvania, where he obtained a position with the H. S. Denny concern, and remained with this establishment for a period of about two years. In 1882 he came to Irwin, where he returned to the farming industry and worked for a period of eleven years for John George, one of the farmers in the neighborhood. His next location was on the A. H. Pollins farm, and there he farmed for twenty-five years or more. He was a modern up-to-date farmer, and had some fine stock, notable among which were the well known Clydes and Percheron.
Mr. McElroy was a Republican in his political affiliation, but did not take an active part in politics. He was a Presbyterian in his religious belief and attended the Long Run church of that denomination at North Huntingdon township.

Notes: Marriage

They were the parents of two boys and three girls.
