This appears in HMC 1888, 1057: "Robert E. Gordon came to the county in 1853, and died February 4, 1856." It is not clear that this refers to this individual. However his brother James raised a girl: "Nancy L., daughter of R. C. Gordon, she married Isaac Suydam, of Glendora, CO." If Robert C. Gordon died young perhaps this is a reference to his child being raised by his brother.
