General Notes: Husband - Henry Paul Good
He was a pupil in the schools of Penn township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, at an early age. He was unusually well-developed for his years and gained most of the educational advantages to be offered him in these institutions by the time he was fifteen years old. It was at this age that he began to work for his father on the latter's farm. He continued working with his father until he had reached the age of twenty-two years, when he moved to Irwin and engaged in a mercantile business. He was very successful in this enterprise, but later turned his attention to another business and became a butcher. He became the owner of a handsome butcher shop in Irwin and conducted a large and profitable business. For more than thirty years he was engaged in business in Irwin and sold feed and groceries as well as meats. He was also engaged in the transfer business and met with success.
In his politics Mr. Good was a Democrat and was very active in the councils of his party, but avoided rather than sought public office of any kind. He was a prominent figure in social and fraternal circles, being a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, the Woodmen of America and the Loyal Order of Moose. He attended the Reformed church and was active in the work of the congregation.
