He was born Nov. 18, 1783, in the Leitersburg District, Washington County, Maryland, and in 1813 he purchased the farm in Washington township, Franklin County, Pennsylvania, upon which Midvale Station, on the Western Maryland railroad, was later located and which was later owned by his grandson, Jacob F. Good. There he resided until his death. [BAFC, 243]
