General Notes: Husband - Philip G. Gongaware
He left Germany during the latter part of the eighteenth century and sought a home on this side of the Atlantic. He purchased a large tract of land near the site of Adamsburg, Westmoreland County, PA, and reared a family of four sons and six daughters. He was a democrat, a lutheran and a prosperous farmer.
Another source states that he and his wife had a family of eleven children.
