He made his move to Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, when twenty-four years of age, settling in Scott township, where he owned a large farm. On this property was later situated the village of Glenndale. He was a soldier in the War of 1812. He and his family were members of the United Presbyterian Church, in which he held the office of elder. He was very strict in all religious matters, and died at an advanced age. [GPHWP, 310]
