General Notes: Husband - Frederick Henry
He was a resident of Northampton, Burlington County, New Jersey. In time he and his wife removed to Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, settling near Harrold Church, where they made a clearing and erected the necessary cabin and out-buildings. Three chil-dren were born of their union. Some time about the year 1780, while the husband was absent, a band of Indians burst on the settlers, burned the Henry cabin, murdered the wife and infant child, and carried the daughter and younger son away. Immediately upon the return of Henry a posse of settlers was formed to trace and if possible re-capture the prisoners. The Indians were followed to their camp upon the present site of Pittsburgh, a fierce skirmish ensued, the children retaken, the murderer of the wife and child identified, tied to a tree and despatched by the daughter, Anna Margaret.
General Notes: Wife - Catherine Franks
She was a native of France and came to America in early youth.
