General Notes: Husband - William G. Altvater
He went from Washington County, Ohio, to Tarentum, Pennsylvania, and from there to Pittsburgh, and after his school days were over he went to work in the steel mills, where he continued for nine years and then, with his father, bought a farm in Jefferson township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, which they operated together. It was formerly known as the old Helmhold place, consisted of seventy-five acres, and was situated one and one-half miles west of Saxonburg.
