General Notes: Husband - James Frame
He served in the war of 1812, was with Perry in the famous battle of Lake Erie, and served on the brig “Niagara” and the schooner “Porcupine.” He was one of the command detailed to shoot Bird for deserting his sweetheart. Bird, who was an intimate friend of his, was buried on the shore of Lake Erie. Frame returned to the spot many years later and finding the waves of the lake had encroached on the grave, he exhumed the body and removed it either to Erie or Northeast, where it was reburied.
He settled in Crawford County, Pennsylvania, where he purchased land and became an influential farmer. He was an ardent disciple of John Wesley, and one of the most active workers of the Methodist church in Jamestown, Pennsylvania.
