General Notes: Husband - Capt. Samuel Fowler
He left Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, with his people when he was ten years of age, and lived thereafter in Beaver County. He was educated at the common schools, and was a student at Duff's college for eight months. He followed steamboat piloting for eighteen years or more.
He lived in the town of Baden, Pennsylvania, and was captain and pilot of steamboats plying between Pittsburgh and Louisville, Kentucky. He and his wife were members of the Methodist church. Politically he was a Republican.
