General Notes: Husband - David Altman
He resided in Hempfield township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, four miles west of Greensburg, where he farmed all his life. He was a member of the Lutheran church, and a Democrat in politics.
He was the owner of two valuable farms near Greensburg, where he resided during practically his entire life. Some idea of the difficulties of life in those days might be gathered from the fact that David Altman used to be obliged to ride hoseback to the town of Moyerstown, Maryland, a distance of more than one hundred miles in order to secure salt for his household needs, which he carried in a large sack over the back of his horse.
General Notes: Wife - Susanna Riggle
