General Notes: Husband - Robert Foster


He was a corporal in the Civil war, enlisted October 3, 1862, in Company 5, Sixteenth Regiment, under command of Captain R. W. McDowell, and served a term of three years. He was wounded at the battle of Amelia Springs, thereby losing his leg. He was mustered out of service August, 1865.
He was the first burgess of Scottdale, Pennsylvania, taught school several years, and also had charge of the bonded warehouse.
