General Notes: Husband - Samuel Keefer

Madison, Westmoreland Co, PA

He was reared on his father's farm and received his education in the old log school houses and under the subscription school system of that day. He always followed farming in Sewickley township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, where he owned the valuable grain and mineral farm on which his widow and part of his family later resided.
He was a republican, served his township as tax collector and school director and was a trustee and class-leader of Madison Methodist church, of which he was a member for many years.
