General Notes: Husband - George Barnet Foltz

---

He was reared on the farm and followed farming from early manhood. When his father's health became impaired he was intrusted with the care of the farm near Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, and conducted it with marked intelligence and skill. After the Messersmith farm was sold, he removed to Washington township. In politics he was an earnest Republican, served one term as Director of the Poor, and was mentioned by his party friends as a candidate for sheriff.
