General Notes: Husband - William Stewart
He and his wife and one child, an infant, arrived in America about 1782. His first location was near Gettysburg, Adams County, Pennsylvania, removing in 1794 to the farm long occupied by his son, Archibald Stewart, in Armstrong township, Indiana County. He started a store about 1798 or 1799, which was probably the first in the county north of Armagh or Newport. He was succeeded by Archibald, his son.
General Notes: Wife - Margaret Getty
Gettysburg, in Adams County, Pennsylvania, was named after her uncle.
