General Notes: Husband - Jacob S. Gearhart
He was one of the pioneers of Decatur township, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, clearing a farm where he made his home until his death.
He was born in Germany; he came to America when he was a young man, and first resided in Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, where he farmed 400 acres, his own property, near Philipsburg. He also raised stock. [CBEJV, 101]
He was originally a Whig, and afterwards a Republican. He was a member of the United Brethren church. He died on the homestead.
