General Notes: Husband - Benjamin Spackman
For ten years after his marriage he engaged in milling in Grahamton, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, and then in connection with T. H. Forcey purchased a grist and saw mill in Morris township, same county, where he resided for eight years. Returning to Grahamton, he conducted the mill there for three years, and then purchased a farm of ninety acres in Graham township, to the cultivation and improvement of which he then devoted his time and attention with most satisfactory results.
Mr. Spackman was of Quaker descent, but in religious belief he and the entire family were Methodists. Politically, he was identified with the Republican party from its organization, and always took an active interest in public affairs. For two terms he filled the office of school director.
