General Notes: Husband - Alexander A. Logan

He was reared at Logan's Ferry, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and assisted his father in the store and on the farm. At the age of thirty years he entered the service of the P. F. W. & C. R. R. as a Pullman conductor, continuing until the close of the Civil War, running between Pittsburgh and Chicago. In 1865 he was appointed traveling agent for the Fort Wayne and Allentown R. R. lines, and traveled through New England, making his headquarters at Boston. In 1867 he returned to Pennsylvania and moved onto a farm in Burrell township, Westmoreland County, purchased by his father. Some ten years later he sold this farm and bought another which he occupied for the next ten years or more. Mr. Logan was a republican, served as school director and in 1880 was census enumerator for Lower and Upper Burrell township and Parnassus borough.
