General Notes: Husband - John Rowe

His grandfather Rowe came when a boy from Germany to America.
His father was born near Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and always followed farming in the vicinity of that place.

He was educated in the rural schools and became a fair scholar in both English and German. He was a stonemason by trade but followed coopering during the winter season. He was an old-line whig politically, and a Lutheran in religious faith.

He and his wife were the parents of ten children.
