General Notes: Husband - Clifford Porter Fisher

He was educated in the public schools of his native town of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, and at the age of nineteen years he secured a position in the butcher's establishment of Adam Bortz. He remained in his employ for about three years and then, having gained a thorough knowledge of the business and having set aside a sufficient sum from his earnings to enable him to become independent, he formed a partnership with John H. Ackerman and they opened a butcher's establishment of their own. The firm began business under the style of Ackerman & Fisher, and from the outset met with a marked degree of success. They thus continued until February 12, 1917, when Mr. Fisher purchased the interests of his partner and became sole proprietor of the flourishing enterprise. Under his management it grew until he was conducting one of the largest meat markets in Greensburg and indeed the entire district.
In his religious belief he was a member of the First Reformed Church of Greensburg, while in politics he was a staunch supporter of the principles and politics represented by the Democratic party.
