General Notes: Husband - Abraham Scott
Aug. 6, 1784, his father had obtained a warrant for a tract of land on Raccoon Creek in Washington County, Pennsylvania, which was surveyed to him in March the next year as "Dispute," containing three hundred and forty-seven acres. On the 1st of June, 1791, he sold this tract to his sons, Samuel and Abraham. Abraham owned two hundred and forty-seven acres, the land on which his son Holland later resided. On the stream he had a gristmill and a horse-mill.
He was born and reared in Maryland, and when a young man came to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, afterward (about the year 1780) settling in Washington County, with his brother Alexander. He purchased a wild tract of land near Raccoon post office, Robinson township, where his life was passed in agricultural pursuits. He was a Democrat in politics, and in religion a member of the Presbyterian Church at Raccoon.
