REUBEN J. HECKATHORNE
Funeral services for Reuben J. Heckathorne, 77, of Franklin RD-2 who died in the Oil City Hospital at 2 PM Monday following several months illness, will be held at 3 PM Thursday in the Crawford Funeral Home and burial will be made in the Brandon Cemetery. He was admitted to the hospital a week ago.
Born in Lisbon, near Emlenton on Apr. 10, 1873, a son of Reuben and Anna Stewart Heckathorne, he was married in 1894 to Frances Allison of Seneca, who preceded him in death in 1943. He was a retired oil field worker, and was a member of the Victory Heights Methodist Church. Survivors include the following children: Floyd B., Mrs. J. M. Dempsey and Mrs. R. L. Palm of Oil City; Mrs. Edward Coon of Reno, PA; Mrs. D.W. Ace of Emlenton; Mrs. Leroy Snyder of Brockton, NY; S. L. of Buffalo, NY; and Mrs. Sherman Beers of Pittsburgh. Twenty-four grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren also survive together with the following brothers and sisters: John of Rocky Grove, James and Margaret Burk of Lisbon and Mrs. Mary Moon of Denver. Col.

Mrs. Frances Allison Heckathorne, 70, Franklin RD-2 Victory Heights, died at 6:25 AM Tuesday after an illness of several years. She was born in Wisconsin, but came to this section when she was two years of age. She was a member of Salina Methodist Church.
Surviving besides her husband, Reuben, are the following children: Floyd B., Mrs. Marie Dempsey, Mrs. Hazel Palm and Mrs. Sherman Beers of Oil City; Mrs. Leroy Snyder of Salina; Mrs. Ed Coon of Reno; Mrs. Donald Ace of Emlenton RD-2. She also leaves two brothers, John and Henry Allison of Gibsonburg, Ohio; and a sister, Miss Mary Allison of 1136 Buffalo St., Franklin, PA.

Funeral services for Mrs. Reuben Heckathorne, who died Tuesday were held at the home on Victory Heights at 2:30 PM Friday with Rev. Arthur Baker officiating. During the service Rev. Baker read "In The Garden" and "Follow Me." Interment was made at Brandon Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Donald Biery, Ned Biery, Orrin McDowell, Glenn McDowell, Samuel Shreffler and William Ralph.

Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Heckathorn Celebrate 40th Anniversary.
Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Heckathorne celebreated their 40th wedding anniversary at their home on Victory Heights on Aug. 29.
The evening was spent socially and with musical selections presented by Mr. and Mrs. Donald W. Ace, Mrs. Edwin Hughes and Clarence Burke. Miss Myrtle Heckathorn gave a reading, "Ma and I" especially appropriate to the occasion, telling of experiences of the past 40 years.
Refreshments were served to 55 guests. The large wedding cake, with bouquets of pink gladioli and snow on the mountain were features of the decorations. Mr. and Mrs. Heckathorne received a number of beautiful gifts and countless words of congratulations and best wishes for future years of wedded happiness.
Sons and daughters and their families present included: Mr. and Mrs. Floyd B. Heckathorne and family, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Dempsey and family, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Kulling, Jr. and son, Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Palm and daughter, all of Oil City; Misses Mildred and Myrtle Heckathorne, Mr. and Mrs. Donald W. Ace and son, Rev. and Mrs. Sherman Beers and family of Cochranton.
Other guests were: LeRoy Snyder, of Sandy Lake; Edward Coon, of Reno; Mr. and Mrs. Frank McHood, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Burke and two sons and Clarence Burke, of Kennerdell; Mrs. Laura Heckathorn, Velma and Wayne Heckathorne, of Seneca; Mrs. Viola Pollock and Mrs. Ida Farren, of Oil City; Mr. and Mrs. Merle Wingard and son, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Allison, of Seneca; Mr. and Mrs. John Heckathorne, Mrs. Edwin Hughes and daughter, of Rocky Grove; Mr. and Mrs. J. COUPLE CELEBRATES ANNIVERSARY BY TRIP
Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Heckathorne, residents of Victory Heights for the past 39 years, have returned from a motor trip to Niagara Falls, and Toronto, Ont., which was the gift of their children for their 45th wedding anniversary. They were accompanied by their daughter, Myrtle Heckathorne, and Leroy Snyder.
Mr. and Mrs. Heckathorne observed their anniversary on Thursday evening, August 29, when a family dinner was held in their honor.
Among those present at the anniversary dinner were their sons and daughters and their families: Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Heckathorne and children of Oil City; Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Dempsey and son of Franklin; Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Palm and daughters of Oil City; Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Heckathorne and children of Franklin; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Ace and children of Emlenton; Rev. and Mrs. Sherman Beers of Seneca; and Miss Myrtle and Miss Mildred Heckathorne, at home.
