General Notes: Husband - John Gamble

---

He taught school for several years. He was the only member of his family who identified himself with the Republican party and he was elected and served as clerk of the county courts. Afterward, for thirteen years, he served as steward of the Washington County Home, and after resigning this position, he bought 300 acres of farm land in North Strabane Township. He carried on farming and stock raising there until his death.
