General Notes: Husband - John Thompson
He and his brother Adam immigrated to America from Ireland at an early date. They landed in Philadelphia, and while there purchased 200 acres of land, in what became Salem Township, Mercer County, Pennsylvania, from a Revolutionary soldier, and settled on the property. They subsequently purchased, in what became Sandy Creek, a farm of 200 acres from David Chess. John subsequently traded his interest in the Salem farm for the Sandy Creek farm, and it then passed to his descendants. He was a soldier in the War of 1812, and elder in the Second United Presbyterian Church. [HMC 1888, 1103]
