General Notes: Husband - Isaac C. Patsch

Houstonville, Washington Co, PA

His great-great-grandfather was Jacob Miller, Sr., who was killed by a band of Indians on Easter Sunday, 1782.

When fifteen years of age he began to learn the blacksmith's trade in his father's shop.

He attended school until he was about sixteen years of age, at Triadelphia and Claysville, and then entered his father's shop to learn the practical details of the blacksmith's trade. From May 9, 1872, he worked continuously as a blacksmith and became known far and wide as a very expert one. He did a large business and had a first-class shop, with all the modern tools of his trade. He owned a fine home which he built in 1893, together with his shop and some six other valuable properties in the borough.
