He enlisted in Co. B, 10th Pa. Reg. Veteran Reserve Corps, which was enrolled in Co. F, 18th Reg. Pa. Cavalry Volunteers, November 23, 1862. Was transferred to Veteran Reserve Corps January 26, 1865. Discharged August 1865, at Washington, D. C.
He held the office of school director and supervisor of the township. He voted the Republican ticket, and he and family were members of the Presbyterian Church.
