General Notes: Husband - Nathan Furman
He was born in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, and had common school advantages there until he accompanied his parents to Clarion County, where he spent the remainder of his life. He was engaged in farming and lumbering, and was known as an expert hewer, and he was a respected member of his community, holding membership in the Baptist Church and lending his influence to all worthy objects. In politics he was originally a Whig, later a Republican.
