He was the ancestor of the Fulton family, of Scotch-Irish extraction, which resided near Londonderry, Ireland. His children all went to America about 1780, and all settled in Westmoreland County except Joseph.

She was a native of Ireland; her family came to America in 1772 and settled in Sewickley township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
Her remains, with others of the family, now rest in the Presbyterian grave-yard near Mt. Pleasant.
