General Notes: Husband - Matthew H. Fails
He learned the trade of carpenter with his father. He was connected with the railroad beginning in 1863, and became foreman of the W. P. railroad car-shops in 1874.
Civil War: he served in Co. B., 56th Pa. vols., from September, 1861, to April, 1863, and was wounded August 29, 1862, taken prisoner, and discharged in September; he also served in Co. B., 206th, about one year.
