He married and they first took up their abode in Trumbull County, Ohio, and in 1816 moved to Wadsworth, Medina County, where they resided until his death. He was a "potter" by trade, but devoted his later years to tilling the soil. They were Lutherans and he held at different times the office of deacon and elder.
