East Greensburg, Westmoreland Co, PA

He obtained his education in the common schools of Delmont, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. At the age of sixteen he left school and entered the service of the firm of Kelly & Jones, with whom he remained for some time. He then became his father's partner in the grocery business, which they conducted for a year and a half. At the end of that time his father took charge of the hotel in Delmont, and Mr. Walton became his assistant. This position he held for three years, when he removed to Greensburg and engaged in the dairy business. His political sentiments and principles were those held and supported by the Democratic party.
