General Notes: Husband - Ross S. Fox

The old Fox home, owned by his father, later became the property of John K. Fox, and was situated one mile west of Mount Pleasant, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. Ross S. Fox was born at that place and there lived until he had completed his eleventh year, after which he spent some years with his paternal grandparents. He then returned and lived with his mother on the Strohm farm, and at the death of his grandfather, Jacob Strohm, took over the management of the old place and operated it successfully. He carried on general farming operations and maintained the reputation of the farm as one of the finest in the county. He resided there with his mother. Although Mr. Fox was active in the local affairs of the community, he was without ambition so far as political preferment or public office was concerned and never consented to accept any nomination. He was a member of the Church of God at Alverton, which he attended in common with all the other members of his family.
