The Euwer family was planted in America by three brothers, Patrick, Samuel and John Euwer, who emigrated from Ireland in 1796.

He settled on Sandy creek, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and was one hundred years old when he died, leaving a very large posterity, who were accustomed to hold annual reunions at Jacob Walter's, Springdale.
