General Notes: Husband - John Eggert

He was a native of Germany and came, when sixteen years of age, as a cook with some soldiers to Canada. He soon deserted and enlisted in one of the Continental armies, in which he served throughout the Revolutionary War. At its close he settled in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, where he drew a pension until his death.
