General Notes: Husband - Thomas Allen

He was a soldier in the War of 1812, from Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.
The same year he was married he located on a farm in Indiana County, Pennsylvania.

The Allen farm was a part of the tract containing 548 acres, which included the forks of the Mahonings and mouth of Sugar creek. It was warranted to Isaac Meason and R. C. Cross, in 1785, and patented to Isaac Meason, and John and Cornelia Cross, executors of R. C. Cross, in 1788, and described as situated in Northumberland County. Dr. John Postlewait, of Greensburg, purchased it in 1809, and in 1817, John Nicoll became the owner. About the same year, he gave the tract to his three nephews, Hugh, Thomas and John. Mr. Nicoll laid out about 1817, "Nicollville," in the forks of the Mahonings. Not a house was ever erected.

Notes: Marriage

The source states that they were married in 1876, but this makes no sense. Perhaps 1826 was meant?
