General Notes: Husband - George Washington Errett
He was born near Arona, in Hempfield township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and the place continued to be his home during practically his entire life. He secured his education in the local public schools, and in 1874 went to Penn township, where he remained for two years. He then returned and resided near the old home. In the year 1885 he assumed charge of his father's farm, and in 1900 built a new house in place of the log cabin where he had been born and where the family had resided for so many years. This property lay in the coal region of Westmoreland County, and the underlying coal was sold to the Keystone Coal Company at the rate of one hundred dollars per acre. Mr. Errett continued to carry on farming operations there. In politics he was a Republican, but was extremely independent and never took a very active part in politics, nor did he ever hold office of any kind. He was a member of the Lutheran church at Adamsburg, as were also the other members of his family.
