General Notes: Husband - Samuel Swain
He was born in Maryland, and came with his parents to Butler County, Pennsylvania, in 1818. They rest in the old cemetery at Zelienople.
He was born in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. [HBC 1895, 1092]
He lived at Whitestown for a period, and later purchased a farm in Jackson township, Butler County, from the Ziegler estate, upon which he spent the remaining years of his life. He was a Democrat in politics, and was an elder in the Lutheran church for many years. He contributed towards the erection of both the German and English Lutheran churches at Zelienople.
General Notes: Wife - Hannah Emerich
After the death of her husband, she removed to Butler, Pennsylvania, and died at the home of her daughter at Etna, Pennsylvania.
