General Notes: Husband - John Elliott

He was a native of Enniskillen, Ireland, and came to America in 1810, while yet a single man. He possessed ample means, and after prospecting for some time, settled in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, near Greensburg, where he established a factory for the manufacture of iron, conducting it for seven or eight years, then sold it, and purchased, from John Worden, a farm containing 240 acres. This farm was situated in Clarion County, and the rest of Mr. Elliott's life was spent there in the peaceful occupation of a farmer; there it was that his death occurred at the age of fifty-four years. He rendered service to our country as a soldier during the War of 1812, especially at Queenstown. He was a member of the M. E. Church.
