General Notes: Husband - John Douglass Elder


Civil War: He was second lieutenant of Company D, 62d Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, and was killed at the battle of Malvern Hill, while in command of his company.

Another source states that he was killed in Tennessee.
