It appears from the old records that he was born in Northampton County, Pennsylvania, and came to Westmoreland County with his parents at a youthful age.
He inherited one of the three farms which made up the four hundred acres originally purchased by his father. Here he resided during his entire life, carrying on agricultural operations and making himself a well-known man in the community.
