General Notes: Husband - George Ehler


His birth occurred in Germany, but during his childhood he came to the United States and located in Venango County, Pennsylvania, where he was reared. As a young man he came to Clarion County, where he married. He was a blacksmith by trade, and for some time worked in the furnaces of Clarion County. About 1842 he took up his residence in Shippenville, becoming its third blacksmith, and in that place his death occurred, at the age of fifty-five years. He was a Republican in politics, and was an active and prominent member of the German Lutheran Church, of which he was one of the trustees.


General Notes: Wife - Sophia Wiseman


When just a girl she came with her father to America, being numbered among the first settlers of Meadville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania; whence they came to Clarion County.
