General Notes: Husband - Abel Fisher


He was educated in the public schools of Jamestown, New York. After leaving school he was employed by the Empire Worsted Mills and learned the dyeing business, under his father's instruction, who was foreman in that shop. He came with his parents to Butler, Pennsylvania, and continued to engage in the business. Upon the retirement of his father from active business, he and his brother Joseph H. purchased the business. After the death of his brother he became the sole owner.
He was a Republican and a member of the Second United Presbyterian Church. He was affiliated with the Knights of Pythias; Independent Order of Odd Fellows; Butler Lodge No. 272, F. and A. M.; New Castle Consistory, 32nd degree; Syria Temple, A. A. O. N. M. S., Pittsburgh; Syria Caravan, Butler, Pennsylvania. He was a member of the Rotary Club. Mr. Fisher took an active interest in the Boy Scout movement and was president of the Butler County Boy Scouts of America.
