General Notes: Husband - Isaac Zartman
Being left an orphan at the age of six years, he came to Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, to live with his aunt, Mrs. John Overduff, who resided near Luthersburg. There he grew to manhood, receiving a very limited education in the common schools. As soon as he was large enough to do manual labor, he began working on farms and in the lumber woods, and at length he accumulated enough capital in this way to purchase his own farm in Brady township, Clearfield County.
After their marriage his wife bought fifty acres of wild land from her brother, D. T. Dunlap. This was cleared, cultivated and improved with good and substantial buildings.
He was always identified with the Democratic party, and both he and his wife were connected with the Presbyterian Church of DuBois.
