General Notes: Husband - Robert Stewart

It is believed that he was a grandson of David Stewart, an early settler on Marsh Creek, in what is now Adams County, Pennsylvania, who died in 1741, and was buried in the Lower Marsh Creek Presbyterian graveyard.

He emigrated from Adams County to Tyrone township, Blair County, after the Revolution, and became the owner of 345 acres of land in Sinking Valley, in 1794. This large tract was afterward divided into two farms, one of which became known as the Russell place (later owned by Samuel Morrow), the other as the Stewart homestead. On the homestead farm a substantial stone mansion was built in 1801, that was still standing in the early 1900s.
