She attended the Warren, Pennsylvania, and Philadelphia grammar schools, and graduated from the Warren high school in 1901. She entered Bryn Mawr College that fall, and graduated from the college in June, 1906. For two years she was a substitute teacher in the Warren high school, and she was also a private tutor after leaving college.
