General Notes: Husband - Stephen Allen

He came to Crawford County, PA, when a small boy, in 1795, with his father, who had been a soldier in the Revolutionary war. He himself was a soldier in the War of 1812.
He and his wife were the parents of nine children, five were still living in 1885. They were members of the Presbyterian Church.

He was a native of New Jersey, settled in South Shenango Township, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, in 1802, where he lived with his father until after his marriage; about 1814 he moved to Mead Township, Crawford County, where he worked at farming until 1824, in which year he moved to North Shenango Township, where he built a saw and grist-mill and a carding and clothing mill.
