General Notes: Husband - Albert Garrett


He attended the public schools of Prescott, Ontario, Canada, until he was fourteen years of age, then followed his brother George to the United States, locating in the oil district in Clarion County, Pennsylvania, where he worked in the oil field. About 1888 he became an oil well contractor, maintaining an office at 21st and Penn avenue. Pittsburgh, and operating over a large extent of country. For about fifteen years he was a contractor for the well known Philadelphia Company of Pittsburgh, doing a great deal of business with that prominent concern. About 1900 he retired from active business life and in 1905 established his residence in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania. Following this he has gratified his love for travel by tours through the western and southern parts of the United States, Central and South America. He was a director of Bridgeville Lumber Company, and was a property owner in both Bridgeville and Pittsburgh. He was a Republican in politics and a member of the Presbyterian church.
