General Notes: Husband - Michael Eberhart
He and Peter Eberhart came to America from Germany in the ship Friendship, John Davis, master, and landed at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Oct. 16, 1727.
The Eberhart family can be traced very far back, even to A. D. 850, but no complete record goes farther than 1266, when an Eberhart became bishop of Constance. Since then the family has been distributed through the centuries all over the German Empire and the United States, the general religious trend being toward the Lutheran Church.
He settled in [a part of Northampton County that later became] Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. He was a farmer of no small dimensions, and a member of the German Reformed Church. His descendants, however, especially after moving West, mostly belonged to the Lutheran Church. It is believed that he is buried in the old graveyard of the Great Swamp church\emdash at least there is an epitaph on an old gravestone of a Michael Eberhart, who died in 1788, who can not be identified with any of the other Eberharts of that vicinity. It is not known how many children he had.
